The "final version" of the Western steampunk skirt... The other version I'm giving to :iconmarychain:

I'm not 100% happy with this one, though I will tell you it looks way better on me than it does on poor Thelma (yes I named my dummy) FOr one thing, I made the waistband just a little bit too big, and it sits low were on my waist than I originally wanted. I might take it in.. We'll see. I'm honestly have thinking of selling this version and making me another one out of a lighter green fabric I have... so if anyone wants to make me an offer feel free. ;)
Materials used:
A curtain for the bottom ruffle. (Curtains rule! :evillaugh: )
medium weight brown fabric of unknown content with slight spandex stretched to it.
Some old suspender hardware.
Heavyweight black ribbon, a zipper, two buttons, and some trim around the edge.

I have to ask. Where did 'steam punk' come from? Is it a new fad?

From wikipedia:

"Steampunk is a subgenre of fantasy and speculative fiction which came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often set in Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date. "

Well I can get that but it seems like it has caught on in the last year or two and I keep wondering if there is some new movie I missed or something. Seems like it might have caught on when "Wild Wild West' came out but it didn't.
