This was one of those "I wonder what'll happen if" projects. You see, I was wondering what type of skirt I would get if I took a 5 in wide strip of 54 inch wide fabric, and added layers on to it, each layer multiplied by two..so while the the first layer only has one strip, the second layer has two the third layer has four, so on.... I made it up to six layers, which ment I had ten strips of fabric sewn together, and that was about as much gathering as I could do!... And the hem on this. If I did my math right (which is always questionable at best) I have a 45 foot hem all the way around this sucker..... hence why it's called monsters skrit. I'm thinking of offering this style skirt for sale (I may even sell this one).
Lovely! And so swishy! Worth all the work, I think.

Wow, that looks amazing I love the way it is fitted and the waist and then flares out to a nice BIG floaty skirt. I love wearing swooshy skirts like that, they are so much fun Just an idea if you make more, I have a tiered skirt that alternates velvet layers with cotton of the same colour, it's a really nice effect.... or you could do a different colour of the rainbow or gradiated shades of one colour.... or I could just shut up You've probably noticed by now that whenever I see something I really like, my brain starts spewing out possible variations on the theme...

Oh, awesome! ^_^ While not 100% accurate, it looks like it would go well with Ren Faire garb, and Faire season is fast approaching... And spinny skirts are the best kinds.
