Help with Resin! Color tint and type, please help!

Journal Entry: Sat Sep 6, 2014, 7:19 PM
So I'm sure the whole internet by now has seen this, but this guy wonderful glowy shelve has inspired me to do something similar for a picture frame for a Hellboy poster I have. Now, I am a fairly experienced woodworking, I work in a furniture shop, so building the frame doesn't intimidate me at all. But I know NOTHING about the filler resin. I have some really knotty gnarly cedar wood I'd love to use, and have the cracks and knot hole all filled in with red resin. The resin part is what intimidating me, as there seems to be a lot of types and pigment options to choose from, and it looks like I could spend a lot of money and royally screw up. I know what I need, I need it to sand to a fine grit well. I'd like to have it a nice deep crystal like red (glow in the dark is nice, but I'm happy with just UV reactive if that is all I can get) I'm going to use an oil finish, so and to highlight the wood grain. So, anyone who willing to give me some pointer on the types of resin that would be best for this, coloring, and just any tips in general I'd appreciate it greatly

When she was little, FrockTart, (Frocky for short) was the type of child who when asked, “What’s your favorite holiday?" would reply "Halloween!". As she grew older, the challenge of being different on Halloween got to be a growing obsession with her, one that had her planning costume in May. Not satisfied with the princesses and witches that were the standard fare of teenage girls Halloween costumes, she soon was creating fantastical and outlandish outfits for her self and the rest of her family. This led to sewing for other, which led to the creation of “FrockTarts” (according to the geek wisdom of Xena, is slang for “seamstress”… wither that is true or not is yet to be determined.)

She has also done more mundane stuff such as baby cloths, purses, and some upholstery on the side. Her current obsession include Steampunk, Dieselpunk , and Flemish rabbits.

Frocky is currently working on another costume for her favorite wizard, and counting down the days till Halloween. She can be reached at or at her website, .

Doing good. Work is well and trying to keep up with it. And just signed a TV deal. Going to shoot the pilot in Dallas in a month or so. One of those TV reality shows about artists etc. But the show has to be picked by a network first. So nothing may come of it.

Anyway. Just wanted to say hello and let you know I am thankful for you noticing my work. I hope you are well and making buckets of cash. :)
